GOVERNMENT (II)

Genesis 1

 26  Then God said: Let us make human beings in our image, after our likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the tame animals, all the wild animals, and all the creatures that crawl on the earth. 27

God created mankind in his image;

in the image of God he created them;

male and female he created them.

 28 God blessed them and God said to them: Be fertile and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and all the living things that crawl on the earth.

Gen 1: 26 – 28

The first point of entry into God is the place of honor, of fear and reverence. That when you think of God, a fear and reverence must fill our hearts as we remain in a constant state of awe. The secrets of God are committed to those who will fear and reverence Him.

Genesis 3

 17 To the man he said: Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, You shall not eat from it,

Cursed is the ground because of you!

In toil you shall eat its yield

all the days of your life.

 18 Thorns and thistles it shall bear for you,

and you shall eat the grass of the field.

 19 By the sweat of your brow

you shall eat bread,

Until you return to the ground,

from which you were taken;

For you are dust,

and to dust you shall return.

Gen 3:17-19

When Adam fell into sin, he fell into a state that affected all creation. He represented all humanity and creation; everything began to function in a manner that was not natural because of the state that Adam had entered into. Adam lost his original state and his place in God and entered into a dimension averse to God. God had to start working again so that creation may be restored to its original state.

When Jesus the second Adam came, He restored man to their original state in God by bearing our sins and bringing about redemption, which brought a re-entrance into the state that God had designed for man and all creation. Like in the case of Nebuchadnezar, the state of his heart or the code in his soul was changed, and he entered a state that was lesser than that in the souls of men, which made him act and live like an animal.

What makes a man different from all other creation, are the things encoded into his soul by God, a destiny of headship and rulership.

After the fall, God had to go back to work looking for men who could model the original state of rulership and dominion that He had created man to legislate from. God gave Abraham such dominion to legislate over the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah because He saw that Abraham had the capacity to raise his household and a nation that would model the originality of creation as God designed it and operate in a manner that pleased God.

Sometimes, we are created to judge nations like Abraham did, but when the Lord looks at our lives, it only models chaos and not the order of God. The instructions that God gave Timothy about the appointment of bishops for the church showed how God wants us to be individuals that live their lives structurally and in a well-governed state.

Before we can press into greater things in God, the measure of the life and realities of God comes into view at such a time. Jesus was sacred and governed the disciples God gave Him, and He was able to present them back to God without anyone save Judas, who was lost. Likewise, God expects us to govern our lives and the dimensions

He has committed to us. There is judgment and a day of accountability for everything committed into our hands, a day to weigh our faithfulness in the things God committed to us.

When God created Adam, he was equipped with everything that was needed to function with nothing lacking, but when he fell, he fell short and became inadequate, but through Christ, we become complete in God. If we must connect heaven to earth, you must be highly sensitive to God and the things of heaven. We must pay attention to receiving from God things just as they are in His heart. We must know and be sensitive to the state of things committed into our hands.

You can’t afford to live unconsciously; you have to be aware, a gatekeeper of the things within your influence, to subdue and intentionally govern according to the desires of God.

Mary, the mother of Jesus, had to be connected to the heavens to nurture Jesus as a child and raise Him as a godly seed such that all through His life, he was conscious of His purpose and was ready to fulfill God’s purpose for His life and His ministry at the age of thirty. God used Joseph’s experiences and his faithfulness at different points to guide and lead him to the seat of rulership in Egypt.

We have to be aware and consciously legislate over our lives and affairs. We must learn to steward and insist on outcomes and realities that are different from those on earth but in accordance with the abundant realities of heaven.

To enter the courts of heaven and legislate over the fate of nations according to the level of faithfulness we have built in God, to be administrators of life upon the earth, ensuring that our realm and the nations do not fall into death and darkness. In everything, we must be faithful in the things God has committed into our hands.
